Some stones seem to find us later in life.
Others have walked beside us for as long as we can remember.
For me, Chain Coral is one of those stones.
As a little girl, my family would camp at one of my favorite state parks on the shores of Lake Michigan, and I would spend warm summer days combing the beach for treasures.
Chain Coral was always a special find.
Years later, when I created The Stones Speak Oracle, it was one of the first stones I knew I wanted to paint.
And its message . . . Break free from the chains of expectation.
Over the years, I have often thought of those expectations as the ones we inherit from family, lineage, culture, community, or the roles we are taught to carry.
But this month, Chain Coral is bringing the message a little deeper as it invites us to consider . . . What expectations are you placing upon yourself?
